Top Resting Spots at Magic Kingdom for families with toddlers and young children

Let’s Take a Break

At the magic kingdom!

Surprisingly amongst the hustle and bustle of Disney World our favorite and most memorable moments are the ones where we slow down and take in all the magic.

Disney can be extremely stimulating to toddlers and little kids, seeing their favorite characters come to life and the constant entertainment can feel like a lot! Here at Magical Pursuits we are here to give you the top resting spots at Magic Kingdom provided by real families and travel professionals.

Top MK Break Spots:

Dumbo the Flying Elephant Queue Playground

This was by far our favorite rest area that my kids loved the most. Within the standby queue for Dumbo the Flying Elephant there is an indoor playground which looks and feels like a circus tent. Also a plus is the space has air conditioning and plenty of seats for parents. My youngest who was 2 had no interest in the Dumbo Flying Elephant ride and only wanted to play in this area . For the adults it was a great space to regroup after our early entry attractions cool down, order lunch through MDE and secure our next Genie+ rides.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Queue

We did the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as our early entry ride and unfortunately I was that annoying mom that told them not to play with the toys. I mean we had places to be like in honey pot! But my kids did convince me to go back and they loved the little garden to play. There is a small house to explore, and interactive elements that activate. This is by the stand by line for the Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh, if you have a LL for this ride you might miss it. Winnie the Pooh and Tigger even come out a few times to great guests.

Baby Care Center

Past Casey’s Corner and near the entrance to Crystal Palace is a baby care center for babies and toddlers. This room was recently renovated and its beautiful! Parents can change their little ones while older kids can sit and watch a movie. When you first walk in the room there is a movie playing for kids to watch, two bathrooms and 5 changing stations for babies and toddlers. Additionally you can refill water bottles here and buy any additional baby items. These included wipes, diapers and even Pedialyte. My kids did not want to leave this space!

Mickey’s Friendship Fare

This is a show that is held outside the castle two times everyday. I did mess up on our Magic Kingdom day and had the times from another day so we highly suggest you look on the MDE (My Disney Experience) app the same day and find the time that works for you. I saw a lot of families lining up strollers, getting snacks and ice cream to let their kids take a break and watch their favorite characters. Next time we are totally doing this.

Mickey’s PhilarMagic

This is a great attraction for young kids as a filler between rides. It’s a 3D show following Donald Duck between some of the best Disney films. Between the 3D effects, scents and water its solid entertainment for everyone. According to Wikipedia its shown on the largest purpose-built 3D screen ever made! Plus the blasting AC during the summer months cannot be beat. If you’re a Peloton fan our hero Cody Rigsby provides the best summary of this attraction in his 20 min Disney ride from 2021!

Other Favorites

  • Hall of Presidents: Solid air conditioning nap spot for little ones in strollers.
  • Tom Sayer Island: Playground area and great views of castle!
  • Walt Disney World Railroad: Great way to get around park with little ones, and it multiple entry spots throughout the park. On the train you can you bring your stroller if you fold it up.
